DATACAD Releases DataCAD^® LT 11

Affordable CADD Software Ideal for Designers, Illustrators, and Students



AVON, CONNECTICUT – June 14, 2004 – DATACAD today released DataCAD LT 11, an affordable Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) program for architectural design, presentation, and construction document creation. Priced at $195 USD, new DataCAD LT 11 now provides double-precision accuracy, improved DXF/DWG compatibility, and more than 20 productivity enhancements.

Key New Features of DataCAD LT 11

System Improvements



Greater Precision - DataCAD LT 11 features a 64-bit, double-precision, floating point drawing database. DataCAD LT 11 is now as accurate as AutoCAD®, and designers can work on much larger projects without running into rounding issues (especially when importing large models).



Network Awareness and Backup for Managing Large Workgroups - DataCAD 11 can query other instances of DataCAD 11 or DataCAD LT 11 running on a network to determine whether or not a file is “in-use.” Combined with a streamlined backup and recovery system, and automatic purging of unused drawing data, DataCAD LT 11 takes the hassles out of managing large workgroups.



Updated User Interface – DataCAD’s acclaimed, uncluttered, “heads-up” user interface now provides Microsoft Windows 2000-style properties and support for Windows XP Themes and “Skins”. Users can position toolbars and menus anywhere on the screen by tearing them off and docking them. DataCAD LT 11 will also inherit the visual style of your current desktop theme.



Productivity Enhancements



Improved Symbol Management – the software now features better tools for symbol browsing, reporting, user-defined fields, and text attributes. Symbols such as trees can also be dropped directly on the surface of a polygon.



Improved DXF/DWG Translator – DataCAD LT 11’s DXF/DWG translator is significantly improved. It now supports symbols with layers as well as block attributes.
